Term Art

The class were learning about all the different ways lines could be created and used in creative ways!

 The class learned about the Russian artist Kandinsky and studied his Concentric Circles painting. We then recreated our own.

 The class discussed the artist George Searut and his method of painting using pointillism. The class used earbuds to create their own pointillism autumn paintings.

 Have a look at our autumn WOW Work Tree. This term the focus was on and writing!

We have a few extra scary classmates in with this week! Looking forward to seeing all the fancy dress costumes on Friday!

Islam

This term the class have been taking about Islam. We have recently discussed the Mosque and the Salat prayers. Syed was kind enough to bring in his pray mat for the class to see. Thank you Syed.

Busy Week in 1st Class!

Hi Everyone,

Last week the boys and girls of 1st Class earned 1000 Dojo points for working well as a team and also for individual work. As a reward for we got to spend Golden Time in the playground on Friday. A great time was had by all and some excellent turn taking and sharing skills were displayed. Well done everyone!

We also were very lucky to be visited by Barbara the Dentist. She taught us about our teeth and how important it is to keep them clean. She also showed us how to brush our teeth properly! A big thank you to Barbara for coming in.

Welcome to 1st Class!

Welcome to Rachel's 1st Class blog!

I hope everyone is settling in well and I look forward to getting to know you all better over the coming weeks.

I will update the blog throughout the school year with class homework, spellings, topics we are learning about, class news, events and any important dates and notices.

Homework for the week will be sent home on a Monday in your child's homework folder and collected on Fridays. Generally there will be 1 piece of Maths and 1 piece of English written homework per night along with spellings and Maths tables. Weekly spelling and table tests will be held on Fridays. Reading homework will be gradually introduced over the coming weeks.

The blog will be updated every Monday with the weeks homework, spellings and thematic words.
